Shah Abbas I of the Safavid dynasty, one of the most significant rulers in Iranian history, ascended to power during a period marked by foreign invasions and internal rebellions. Over his 42-year reign, he transformed a fragmented land lacking central authority into a prosperous and powerful Iran. While his life and actions have been extensively studied, a systematic analysis of his personality and political behavior through the lens of political psychology has received less attention. These factors led to the development of dual compensatory behavioral mechanisms: "self-centeredness" through power-seeking and domineering behavior, and "other-centeredness" through benevolent populism, which benefited society
