Siyakoh is a region along the shores of the Jaghato River, mentioned in historical sources from the Seljuk period to the Qajar era. Its most significant period was during the rule of the Mongol patriarchs. As one of the wintering grounds of the Ilkhanid period, Siyakoh holds great potential for historical study. Due to its strategic geographical location-situated along key routes connecting various cities, districts, and states-and its fertile climate, this region attracted the attention of ruling governments throughout history. Siyakoh possessed the essential characteristics of a Qashlaq (seasonal settlement), making it particularly appealing to the Mongol patriarchs, who were accustomed to such nomadic traditions. Despite its historical significance, no prior research has been conducted specifically on Siyakoh, making this study the first independent investigation of the region. This article aims to identify the geographical and historical location of Siyakoh and determine its present-day counterpart. Using historical research methods, field surveys, and an analysis of historical and geographical documents, this study seeks to provide new insights into one of the temporary settlements of central and local governments and its role in interstate trade routes.
