The arrival of new technologies, including photography, in Iran during the Qajar period brought about profound changes in various social and cultural fields. Photography first entered Iran during the reign of Mohammad Shah, and its expansion began during the Naseri period with the emergence of male photographers. Over time, with increasing interest from women, female photographers arrived, and women's photography shops were established. During this period, Iranian society underwent significant cultural and artistic transformations in line with global developments, which also led to a shift in attitudes toward the role and status of women in the social and cultural structure. This article analyzes the social and cultural contexts surrounding the presence of female photographers and women's growing interest in photography during the Naseri period until the discovery of the hijab. The main research question is: How were these socio-cultural changes established, and what were their results? The purpose of this article is to identify the factors influencing women's entry into social activities, with a particular focus on women photographers and the photography of women. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, relying on historical sources and authentic research and documents from the Qajar period, as well as the world standard view of Matila et al. to segment the audience for these new phenomena. The research findings show that with the introduction of the photographic camera, noble women were the first to become interested in photography. Over time, by the end of the Qajar period, opportunities for participation in photography were gradually extended to women from other social groups.
