Haj Kazem Koozehkanani was one of the wealthy and influential merchants in Mashhad during the first Pahlavi era, who migrated to Mashhad after the 1917 Russian Revolution and the Bolsheviks' takeover. Despite the economic crises in Iran, he was able to establish a thriving trading house in Mashhad, unlike many other merchants who went bankrupt, and opened multiple branches inside and outside of Iran with Mashhad as the center. The Koozehkanani trading house was among the top trading houses in Khorasan in the early Pahlavi era. This research aims to answer questions such as: What were the activities of the Koozehkanani trading house? What strategies did they consider for the economic prosperity of their trading house? And what were the main challenges they faced? This study seeks to examine the status of the Koozehkanani trading house over two decades using historical research methods and relying on documents and publications in a descriptive-analytical manner. The research shows that Koozehkanani expanded his commercial activities in Mashhad, and after traveling to Europe and studying, in addition to exports and imports, he focused on production aspects, obtaining exclusive rights and importing new factories. He sought to receive exclusive rights for oil extraction, cotton spinning, carpet weaving, sulfur production, and dam construction, and even imported Karakul sheep for leather production. He was able to establish cotton cleaning factories, cigarette manufacturing, chocolate production, automobile repair, and rope weaving.
