Ottoman attacks on the Islamic borders in the east, as opposed to the west of this empire, needed proper justification and persuasion of the domestic public opinion and other Muslims. In this regard, the Ottoman rulers stated that their goals of attacking the east were to restore the Islamic caliphate, confront the Safavids as the promoters of Shiism, and help their fellow Sunnis in the east, especially inside Iran. In this regard, the presence of Ottoman forces in the Sunni region of Dargazin on several occasions has strengthened the hypothesis that the people of this city were with the Ottomans. This hypothesis has been proposed since Dargazin is one of the few Sunni areas in the center of Iran,
Therefore, the current research is trying to analyze and investigate the importance of Dargazin and its Sunni inhabitants in the attacks and events of Iran and Ottomans during the Safavid period, in a descriptive-analytical approach and relying on library sources. The findings of the present research show that the people of this region were with the Ottomans in limited periods and that was in opposition to the Safavids. The reports of sources about the killing and looting of the people of Dargazin by the Ottoman forces, as well as the tendency of the Dargazini's to support the Qoyunlu and the Afghans at the end of the Safavid rule, can be a proof of the continuous lack of cooperation of the people of this place with the Ottomans.
