Different scientific approaches are influential in Islamic studies, one of which is Hadith-oriented approach (tradition-oriented approach). Hadith-oriented approach puts priority and focuses on hadith when there arises a controversy in evidences. Akhbari scholars have adopted this approach consciously but certain other scholars have been under the influence of some narratives and not knowingly have given priority to them compared to Quranic and rational evidences. The present research tries to answer the question of" what role has hadith-oriented approach played in spreading Tatbir (Qamezani and Tighzani) in Safavid era?". It seems that the hadith-oriented approach of some Shi'a scholars was the most important factor which paved the way for spreading Tatbir in mourning of Ashura in the Safavid era. This research sought to gain religious support for the spread of Tatbir in the Safavid period, which is a hadith-centered approach, to attract the attention of the scientific community and to provide the intellectual roots for the spread of mourning innovations. This work was a descriptive-analytical research and due to its interdisciplinary (historical-hadith) nature, in some cases, narrative methods, rijali analysis and text analysis were used. The results showed that some scholars of the Safavid era were influenced by some narrations, remained silent in the face of Tatbir in the mourning of Ashura. Some also confirmed it, and as a result, both groups caused it to spread among the Shiites. Given the existence of rational and Qur'anic arguments about the sanctity of this work, the position of the mentioned scholars is nothing but hadith-oriented.
