As the main actors of this colonialist process, the governments of Russia, France and UK, have brought most disasters to Iran and Iranians. Among them, the tsarist Russian government with a territorial greed toward iran was the initiator of a long-term war. At the time of defence against Russian army, passive defence considerations and defensive architecture thereunder, was part of Iran’s millitary program. At that time, Abbas Mirza, the crown prince of Qajar, asked for advisory assistance from some European countries in order to modernize the order of the battle. In this regard, some European castle-building experiences was transferred to Iran. The first European style castles of Iran was Kurdasht and Abbasabad castles, built in the beach of Aras river. This research, which is conducted using analytic-descriptive method and based on library resources, attempts to examine the qualities of defensive architecture of Iranian army at that period regarding their design and construction. <strong>چکیده</strong> <br />جامعة سنتی ایران در آغاز قرن 19م. گرفتار ارادۀ سلطه­جویانة قدرت­هایی شد که منافع آنها، منبعث از نظم نوظهور اروپایی بود. دولت‎های روسیه، فرانسه و انگلیس کنش­گران اصلی این فرآیند استعماری، بیشترین مصائب را بر ایران و ایرانی به بار آوردند. در این میان، دولت روسیه تزاری با طمع­ورزی به خاک ایران، آغازگر جنگی طولانی­ مدت شد. در روزگار دفاع نظامی ایران در برابر قشون روس، توجه به ملاحظات دفاع غیرعامل و در ذیل آن، معماری دفاعی، بخشی از برنامه نظامی ایران بود. در آن ایام شاهزاده عباس­میرزا، نائب السلطنه قاجار، جهت نوسازی سازمان رزم، از برخی ممالک فرنگ کمک­های مستشاری طلب نمود که در این فرآیند، برخی تجارب قلعه­سازی اروپایی نیز به ایران انتقال یافت. نخستین تجارب قلعه‏سازی اروپایی در ایران در قالب ساخت قلاع کوردشت و عباس آباد واقع در سواحل رود ارس رقم خورد.   <br />در پژوهش حاضر که به روش توصیفی- تحلیلی و با بهره‎گیری از منابع کتابخانه‏ای انجام پذیرفته، بخشی از حالات و مراتب معماری دفاعی قشون ایران در دورة مذکور در قالب طراحی و ساخت قلاع مذکور مورد بحث قرار گرفته  است. https://tuhistory.tabrizu.ac.ir/article_5369_1008c1d2150796a8c65bc53f34920f86.pdf
